HOW TO GROW MICROGREENS IN OUR PORTABLE UNIT

This guide is for growing microgreens in our ALL IN ONE Portable Unit

Our Portable Grow Unit is a great addition to people living in small spaces like appartments! It is about the size of a laptop and has an inbuilt grow light! What's your excuse now??
Equipment:
-
Grow medium (coco coir/peat is best)
-
Seeds (microgreen specific seeds work best for high germination rates)
-
Approx 5kg weight like a brick or paver
-
Humidifier (if area isn't humid enough)
-
Harvesting tool (flat angle scissors work best)
-
Containers for harvested greens
STEP 1 - Seed & Weighted Germination
-
Follow the instructions provided to assemble the portable unit light bar to base
-
Place enough nicely saturated grow medium into top tray (with holes) and spread evenly. Press the grow medium so it is flat - this layer must be flush with the top.
-
Evenly spread seeds across grow medium, aiming for full coverage without having seeds onto of each other. Lightly spritz seeds using a fine mist spray bottle.
-
Place flat plastic lid provided on top of seeds, and weight of choice on top if that!
-
Time to wait 2-3 days for your seeds to germinate (sprout)

STEP 3 - Blackout
-
Once your seeds have germinated (check they have before moving onto this next stage), remove weight.
-
Pop unit out of direct sunlight and leave for another 2-3 days. After this time your microgreens will have grown significantly without water or light and will look yellow and almost dead (but they are not!!). They will have pushed the black lid up.

STEP 4 - Lights!
-
Remove black lid and find a flat spot near a powerpoint to plug in your unit.
-
Press the ON button to turn the lights on, don't turn off until harvested!!
-
Gently pour water into the space between the soil tray and the base tray so there is an even layer. You will have to do this daily as needed.
-
Depending on the microgreens you have chosen, the harvest time will differ, usually this will be somewhere between 4-7 days under lights.
-
The best time to harvest your microgreens is up to you! Give them a taste test after a few days under lights, if they suit your tastebuds its time to harvest! Leave them longer and they will continue to grow tall!
-
Once harvest, rinse, pat dry and store in a container in the fridge for longevity.
